APSTE Chair on the Move
After taking on the role of Interim Chair at last year’s APSTE Conference following the secondment of Magele Maria Uluilelata to Statistics NZ, Howard Jamieson from Ara Institute of Canterbury will leave the tertiary sector on the 9th March. He will take up the position of Senior Advisor Southern Region with the Ministry for Pacific Peoples in Christchurch.
Since 2013 Howard has held Regional Coordinator and Vice-Chair positions within the APSTE Executive and the transition to Acting Chair enabled the continuation of the good work established by his predecessors. The nationwide APSTE Executive is working in close collaboration with conference organisers in Wellington and Christchurch. Although Howard is leaving, the Executive Team is solid and will steer APSTE with confidence through the year, and will look forward to welcoming members to the PTEF in September (Victoria University of Wellington) and the annual APSTE Conference in October (Ara Institute of Canterbury, Christchurch).
